Corrections policy
Found an error? Tell us. Here is what we do with reports.
Last reviewed: · platform default
We correct errors. If you find one in an article on this site, we want to know.
How to report a correction
Email the contact address listed on our Contact page. Include the article URL, the specific claim you believe is wrong, and, if you have it, the source that shows what is correct. We read every report.
How we publish corrections
- A note is added to the top or bottom of the article explaining what was changed.
- The note timestamps when the correction was made.
- The note describes what the article originally said and what the corrected version says.
- Significant corrections (factual errors that change the meaning of the story) get a more prominent note than minor edits (typos, formatting).
What we don’t do
We do not silently rewrite articles to hide errors. We do not delete reader-visible history. We do not unpublish articles to make corrections disappear. If something is wrong, we say so, on the article.
