My family and I were affected by the Palisades fire earlier this year in January, 2025. It was a lot - we had never been through anything like this before, and while our home survived we had tons of smoke damage, yard and pool destruction, and multiple burn holes in our roof. All of this had to be fixed and cleaned. It took weeks just to figure out who everyone was in the remediation process, and who did what. Getting back to liveable was going to be expensive and take a long, long time, and we realized that just using all of the vendors put forth by the insurance company was not the smart way to go. There is so much in this process to understand, and it is foreign to most of us homeowners. How do you test the air quality post fire? What kind of remediator do you use to clean your home?
